A luxury rental platform built around the idea that ownership is overrated.

MAXIME is a curated clothing rental platform created for people who care deeply about fashion, styling, and finding the exact right piece for a moment without pretending every item needs to live in their closet forever.

The idea came from a very real behavioural pattern: constantly buying pieces for weddings, birthdays, vacations, dinners, shoots, and one-night-only events, only to wear them once and let them sit untouched afterwards. Existing rental platforms proved the model worked, but most felt overly commercial and disconnected from the kind of clothing we actually wanted to wear.

MAXIME approaches rental more like a shared curated wardrobe. Every piece is selected manually based on taste, styling potential, and emotional pull. The experience focuses less on volume and convenience, and more on curation and making fashion feel exciting without requiring permanent ownership.

CURATED INVENTORY

Rather than operating as an open marketplace, every item on MAXIME is sourced and styled internally. Pieces are chosen based on uniqueness and whether they feel emotionally worth renting.

RENTAL WINDOWS

The platform supports multiple rental periods ranging from overnight event rentals to week-long trips. Pricing dynamically shifts depending on rental duration while keeping the interaction lightweight and easy to understand.

EDITORIAL PRODUCT EXPERIENCE

The interface was designed to feel closer to an editorial fashion site than a traditional ecommerce platform. Photography, whitespace, typography, and pacing are treated as part of the product experience itself.

HIGH-TRUST MODEL

MAXIME intentionally avoids heavy deposits and aggressive friction points. Instead, the experience mirrors a reservation model where deposits aren’t needed up front but credit cards can be charged after the fact in the case of damage, late fees or theft.

INTERNAL ADMIN SYSTEM

MAXIME also includes a custom internal admin dashboard used to manage inventory, upload photography, edit pricing, control featured products, and update rental information without touching code. The system was designed to make adding and maintaining pieces feel lightweight enough to support a constantly evolving collection.

BRAND WORLD

Beyond the rental flow itself, MAXIME includes supporting pages for philosophy, sizing, damage policies, delivery logistics, and contact. These pages were written intentionally to make the brand feel personal, relaxed, and culturally aware rather than corporate.

CART + CHECKOUT FLOW

The checkout experience was simplified to reduce hesitation and encourage spontaneity. Users select a rental period, add pieces to their bag, and move through checkout without unnecessary account complexity.

CREATIVE DIRECTION

Photography and styling direction were treated as core product decisions rather than marketing assets added afterwards. Much of the platform’s identity comes from balancing luxury fashion references with an intentionally understated internet aesthetic.
